Our goals include providing competent legal assistance to all while serving the community and the legal profession.

Attorney McKinnon has, over the years, served the Central NH community in many ways. His construction company provided quality work and employment for a dozen years. He was Selectman for the Town of Thornton, served on the Campton-Thornton Fire Department, was an EMT for 12 years and served on the Thornton Police Department.

As Plymouth District Court Clerk, in addition to the daily responsibilities of running the court, docketing cases and handling correspondence, he brought the community into the court. Local schools were invited to participate in mock trials, courthouse tours and outreach speaking programs. Innovative programs including the Greenbook Project, Drug Court, Domestic Violence Programs and others reached out to the community. We and the Vermont-based “Project Harmony” group entertained a Russian delegation to look at our diverse legal systems.

Attorney McKinnon has provided Pro Bono Services via the NH Bar Association assuring representation for those who could not afford it. He has been listed on the Pro Bono honor role multiple times in the past four years.

As a District Court Prosecutor he represented thirteen local towns with honesty and integrity. His interaction with both opposing counsel as well as “pro se” defendants (those representing themselves) was courteous and professional.

These same goals will be pursued with the law firm. John R McKinnon PLLC will strive to honor the legal profession and the people of the community.
